This is the second half of my previous post…
Coming back to the issue of friendship, I will say that how you treat people certainly comes back to hunt you. It is hard to get what you give when it’s positive which is why one has to be very careful.
If you feel you are not being asked ‘how are you’ or ‘what is wrong’ as often as possible, then there is a problem. You are most likely not welcoming or just too protective and don’t let people in.
It is also good to have more virtues than vices.make a list of the virtues and vices you can think of. Then honestly, evaluate yourself and if you have more vices than virtues. It means you are not where God wants you to be and if you have more virtues, do not relax but encourage others to learn from you
I made a list for my evaluation, feel free to use same.
VIRTUES: JUSTICE WISDOM TEMPERANCE. FORTITUDE FAITH HOPE LOVE
VICES: INJUSTICE FOOLISHNESS ANGER DECEIT UNBELIEF HATRED GOSSIP.
To be a great friend indeed, you need to be true to yourself about your shortcomings. If you can identify them, you can work on yourself then grow as a better friend. Also, ensure your friends have a common goal with you and make God the foundation of your friendship. So when you ‘make’ friends, don’t pretend, be honest and be selfless.
